What kind of installation sites are suitable for dry-type transformers and oil-immersed transformers?

Dry Type Transformers are usually used indoors, where fire protection requirements are relatively high. Oil-immersed transformers are usually used outdoors, and of course they can also be used indoors, but oil-immersed transformers may spray oil and burn when a fault occurs, which makes it more dangerous to use indoors. Dry-type transformers usually do not spontaneously combust, and high-quality products have flame retardant properties. The advantages of dry-type transformers are safety and cleanliness, and the disadvantages are high prices, large footprints, and difficulty in outdoor use; the advantages of oil-immersed transformers are that the voltage level can be made very high, the footprint is small, and the scope of use is wide, and the disadvantages are oil leakage and pollution to the environment when a fault occurs. The two transformers follow different standards, have different temperature rise requirements, and it is unfair to compare the heat dissipation performance of different structures.

In terms of structure, oil-immersed transformers have good heat dissipation performance.

1. The application range of oil-immersed transformers is very wide. It can be used indoors or outdoors. It is especially suitable for outdoor use.

2. Dry-type transformers are used indoors. They are mainly used in particularly important places and high-rise buildings, hospitals, airports, stations, subways, large supermarkets, shops, theaters, schools and other places with fire protection requirements.

3. Oil-immersed transformers have no special requirements for the surrounding environment, of course, there must be no fire risk. However, dry transformers have some requirements for the environment, such as not being too humid, not having too much dust and dirt. Good ventilation, etc.
