The influence of air gap edge effect on inductance parameters based on Ansys Maxwell

In view of the great influence of air gap on the electrical parameters of high-frequency magnetic components, an inductor model applied to Boost circuit was established in this paper, and the influence of air gap length and arrangement on the distribution of inductance and magnetic field strength was studied using Ansys Maxwell finite element analysis. The results show that adding a suitable air gap in the magnetic core can reduce the magnetic density of the magnetic core, enhance its anti-saturation ability, and reduce the inductance. By comparing the core models with different open air gap structures, the core structure with open air gap at the bottom of the middle column and the side column can be selected for Boost inductance design, but it needs to be evaluated and determined by practical tests.
